Sony Pictures Virtual Reality and developer nDreams have announced that Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord will release for PlayStation VR 2 and Meta Quest 2 and 3 headsets just in time for Halloween on 26th October. Marking the announcement, here’s a brand new gameplay trailer from last night’s State of Play.
Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord takes the new ghostbusting team out of New York and across the USA to San Francisco. While the game is playable solo, it’s really all about the four-player co-op. The game supports full cross-play across PlayStation VR 2 and Meta Quest 2 and 3.
On PSVR 2, they’re making use of the headset’s 4K HDR display, the built-in eye tracking to enhance accuracy, menus and object interaction, as well as the headset rumble, haptic PSVR 2 Sense controller feedback and adaptive triggers.
“It’s almost time to team up with friends in a new city, with a new crew, in the next big Ghostbusters adventure. We are thrilled to offer players a way to immerse themselves in the world of Ghostbusters like never before, only possible through virtual reality,” said Jake Zim, Senior Vice President, Virtual Reality, Sony Pictures Entertainment. “We’ve still got more surprising news to share, and we can’t wait to get the game in players’ hands October 26, just in time for Halloween!”
