Stardew Valley fans, the wait is almost over. The game's major 1.6 update, which has been massively delayed on consoles, has a release date at last, coming to PS4 and other systems on 4th November 2024.
The news comes via developer ConcernedApe on social media in a no-nonsense statement:
The 1.6 update has been available on PC since March, with console and mobile versions planned to receive it «as soon as possible» afterwards. Nearly eight months later, at the start of November, PS4 players will be able to join the party.
The reason this is a big deal is because the update is, well, big. See for yourself with the official patch notes, which outline all the new features, updates, and improvements — it's an enormous list. We'll pick out a few highlights:
On top of all this are quality-of-life improvements, visual enhancements across the board, balance changes, and a super-long list of bug fixes. It's a substantial upgrade to the game. Thankfully, it's only a matter of weeks before players can enjoy all that version 1.6 has to offer.
