The young Force-user who eventually became disillusioned with the Jedi Order sported a compelling character arc that carried through her various other appearances. Now, after making her first live-action appearance via The Mandalorian, she's got a whole new story to tell.

This is much like the animated series Star Wars Rebels, which featured a similar skip between its 2nd and 3rd seasons. But interestingly enough, the one in Ahsoka is speculated to tie directly into Rebels, with the first 4 episodes taking place before the finale of the latter series while the rest strives ever onward. While unconfirmed, this seems likely given how last year's Ahsoka sneak peek teased some heavy Rebels connections.
