A new piece of Spider-Man fan art imagines Tom Holland’s Peter Parker as the six-armed version of Spidey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Disney/Marvel Studios and Sony’s latest Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), sees one of Doctor Strange’s (Benedict Cumberbatch) spells go awry, bringing Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s webslingers into Holland’s universe. While teasing the character’s future in the MCU or elsewhere, the final installment in Jon Watts’ Homecoming trilogy left the door open for endless possibilities for future Peter Parker stories.
In No Way Home’s post-credits scene, Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock/Venom is transported back to his universe from the MCU universe, but not before leaving behind a small piece of symbiote—which has led many to believe Holland’s character may one day don that infamous black suit. However, Spider-Man has had numerous iterations in the comics, and any one of them could be seen in the MCU now. For example, Peter was once turned into a spider-human hybrid by The Queen in Avengers Disassembled. Another time, in 1971’s The Amazing Spider-Man #100, he accidentally gave himself six arms in an attempt to “cure” himself of his abilities. The latter is known as the “Six Arms Saga” and ends with Peter using Morbius' blood to rid himself of the extra appendages.
