Spider-Man Remastered for the PS5 is the best way to experience 2018's PlayStation exclusive Spider-Man. And now the web-swinging adventure is set to be the latest PlayStation exclusive to release on PC.
In recent years that Sony has started to allow some of its flagship exclusives to take the leap to PC. It is worth noting that said games only tend to jump over to PC after already being out for a few years, the most recent being the release of 2018's God of War on PC.
Resident Evil Village VR Port revealed at State of Play
As revealed at Sony's latest State of Play event, Insomniac's critically acclaimed Spider-Man Remastered will be making its way over to PC on August 12, 2022. PC players will be getting the same version of the title that PS5 players got when they purchased the next-gen edition. This means that all of Spider-Man's three-part DLC will be included in the PC version.
PC gamers will be getting another highly rated title that they have previously been unable to experience. As is the way in the PC community, mods play a large part in gaming, and it's likely that the same will apply to Spider-Man Remastered once it's released. This was the case for 2018's God of War, with one of the more comedic mods swapping out Kratos for Homer Simpson. PC players will have the chance to have the same type of fun modding Peter Parker.
This news may be welcomed by PC players, although it highlights the ongoing difference in strategies between Sony and Microsoft in relation to how they roll out their exclusives to PC. On one hand, PlayStation selects a few titles that will make their way to PC years after release. On the other hand, Xbox is dedicated to releasing its first party games day and date on PC along with Xbox consoles.
