Spider-Man 4 could have the perfect villain in the Kingpin, and his antagonistic presence could also explain a comic book-based change. Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk a.k.a. the Kingpin was the major villain of the Daredevil series during its three-season Netflix run. Though both Daredevil and the Kingpin were out of the limelight for a while after the end of all of the Marvel-Netflix shows, December 2021 was a big month for both of them.
The release of Spider-Man: No Way Home saw Charlie Cox make a crowd-pleasing cameo with Matt Murdock as the lawyer of Peter Parker (Tom Holland). Meanwhile, the release of Disney+'s Hawkeye series featured Vincent D'Onofrio returning as Wilson Fisk, now using a cane. While this could be a tease of Fisk's signature weapon, the Disintegrator Cane, his MCU future might help explain his adoption of such a weapon.

D'Onofrio also wants Fisk to meet Spider-Man, and the Kingpin certainly has plenty of comic book history with the Web-Slinger. Though the Kingpin is typically viewed primarily as Daredevil's arch-nemesis in modern times, he's still a frequent Spidey villain, too. Should Fisk's cane be revealed as his Disintegrator Cane in his hypothetical Spider-Man 4 appearance, his presence in the film can explain the Kingpin's newfound use of such high-tech weaponry. In the Kingpin's early days as Spider-Man's villain in the comics, it wasn't uncommon for him to utilize devices like the Disintegrator Cane.
