Daredevil and Kingpin are now firmly part of the MCU, and the best step for the two arch-rivals to take next is to face each other in a Daredevil movie. To general audiences, the two are still most familiar from the Daredevil TV series, but to readers of the comics, they’re among Marvel’s best-known characters. Since Netflix's Marvel series were added to Disney+, reports of a planned Daredevil reboot began spreading, reviving hope for Daredevil season 4.
Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin, is one of the most powerful and dangerous crime lords in Marvel Comics, usually shown as the overlord of all crime in New York. While he may be best known as the arch-rival of Daredevil, known by day as Matt Murdock, he was originally introduced as a Spider-Man villain in The Amazing Spider-Man #50. Since then, he's become a recurring adversary in the comics for both Spider-Man and Daredevil, as well as The Punisher and Echo. This is what led to Kingpin being the main antagonist for Miles Morales in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and for Echo in Hawkeye.

Matt Murdock’s appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home caused cheers in cinemas, even though his appearance was only brief. Kingpin’s last appearance, however, felt a lot more final, ending with a gunshot during the climactic finale of Hawkeye. All the same, many viewers don’t really believe that Kingpin is dead, not just because it would be a waste of his character but also because he’s arguably survived worse in the comics.
