It's ironic (and terribly tragic) that the best costume Wade Wilson has worn as Deadpool contributed to one of the worst times in his life. The costume was introduced in Gerry Duggan and Mike Hawthorne's Deadpool vol. 6 #1, and coincided with a period in which Deadpool was not just rich, but incredibly popular with the public.
At this point in his life, Deadpool has officially joined the Avengers and has more money than he knows what to do with. He's loved by the public and seeks to expand his name and his brand with a company called Heroes for Hire. (He’s subsequently sued, of course, by Luke Cage with the help of Matt Murdock and Clint Barton.) Wade recruits a series of heroes and villains to dress in his regular red and black costume to build the business. At first they stick mainly to heroic acts, but the group’s need for money causes tension among its ranks.

To set himself apart as the leader of the group and the icon he has become, Deadpool adopts a different outfit. The costume combines his usual mask and gloves with black business attire, including a black shirt and suit complete with red accessories such as a red tie and pocket square. The outfit is clearly meant to portray more of a business tycoon than a Merc with a Mouth. Unfortunately, this suit also facilitates one of the worst times in Wade's life. One of his own heroes, Madcap, develops an unhealthy obsession with Wade after being trapped in his head, and wears the suit to frame Wade for murder and to discover his darkest secrets from a friend.
