Sony has deployed PS5 System Update 23.01-07.60.00, and the contents of this update won't come as much of a surprise.
Yet another PlayStation 5 firmware update, yet more system performance improvements. At least, that's what the official release notes for this new system update mention. Other than that, the release notes don't mention any other changes, although we're pretty sure that the update contains some under-the-hood changes that haven't been discovered just yet. We've included a shot of the patch notes for this update below. Since releasing this update, Sony has also updated its official PS5 support page with the notes.
PS5 System Update 23.01-07.60.00 Notes
The most recent major PS5 System Software update dates from March of this year, when Sony released PlayStation 5 system update 7.0 (23.01-07.00.00). This update introduced VRR support for 1440p displays, Discord Voice Chat support, and more. In addition, this update allowed users to more easily transfer data between PlayStation 5 consoles:
The PlayStation 5 is available globally now. Sony launched its console back in November of 2020, and recent rumors suggest that Sony is planning to release an updated model of the console in the near future - interestingly, this updated model was first thought to be a slim version of the PlayStation 5, although the most recent rumors suggest that we're looking at an improved model with somewhat different dimensions.
