Sony has announced August’s first PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue title.
Sabotage Studio’s retro-inspired, turn-based RPG Sea of Stars will join the subscription service at launch.
Sea of Stars will be released for PC, Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on August 29.
It was previously confirmed that Sea of Stars will be joining the Game Pass catalogue for Xbox and PC on day one too.
“Sea of Stars is a turn-based RPG inspired by the classics,” according to its developer. “It tells the story of two Children of the Solstice who will combine the powers of the sun and moon to perform Eclipse Magic, the only force capable of fending off the monstrous creations of the evil alchemist known as The Fleshmancer.”
Unlike PlayStation Plus Essential games, which are available for all subscribers to claim, Game Catalogue’s downloadable PS4 and PS5 titles are only available for Extra and Premium tier members.
Today’s PlayStation Plus announcement coincides with the release of a Sea of Stars demo for PS4 and PS5.

“The demo features areas that will be part of the final game, but we made sure to pick a slice that did not reveal any major spoilers from the main story,” Sabotage level designer Philippe Dionne wrote in an accompanying PlayStation Blog post, which also covers why traversal is central to the studio’s vision for the game.
“It is designed to give a hint of context but mostly showcases some gameplay systems and mechanics around dungeon crawling and combat. It aims to provide a sense of the tone and vibe without giving away major points of the journey.”
