The new poster for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has been released, highlighting the main cast and teasing Sonic and Knuckle's battle over the Chaos Emerald. The film sees Ben Schwartz and Jim Carrey reprise their roles as iconic video game characters, Sonic the Hedgehog and Dr. Ivo «Eggman» Robotnik. James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, and Lee Majdoub reprise their roles from the first film, with Idris Elba and Colleen O'Shaughnessey joining the cast as Knuckles the Echidna and Miles «Tails» Prower.
After entering a new world, finding friends in Sherriff Tom Wachowski (Marsden) of Green Hills, Montana, and his veterinarian wife Maddie (Sumpter), and making a new nemesis out of Dr. Robotnik before vanquishing him, Schwartz's blue speedster is set to return to the big screen in the 2022 sequel to the surprise video-game movie hit. Sonic won't be alone though, as he is joined by video game companion Tails (O'Shaughnessey) and rival Knuckles (Elba) in a new adventure. Tapping into more of the game series' lore, the latest poster for the upcoming film teases a familiar battle to longtime fans of the series.

Unveiled by IGN as part of their Fanfest, the latest poster teases the returning cast, new characters, and plenty of familiar details from the games. Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Tom, and Maddie are framed within one of the series' rings.
