According to reporting from Tom Henderson at Insider Gaming, Ubisoft’s beleaguered pirate game Skull & Bones will finally arrive on February 16, 2024.
Originally slated for a 2018 release, Skull and Bones underwent a significant development shift with a «new vision» at Ubisoft Singapore. After a whopping six delays, Ubisoft officially announced in October that Skull & Bones would arrive sometime in the Q4 FY23-24 window. More recently, Ubisoft Singapore’s former Managing Director Darryl Long confirmed these reports in a piece published at Yahoo Gaming SEA, stating that the game would ship sometime between January and March of next year.
Insider Gaming’s sources claim the official announcement of the release date may come at this year’s The Game Awards on December 7. The game, which is being developed under the codename ‘Project XA’ has seen frequent playtesting lately, with one such test occurring as recently as last week.
Players can pre-order the Standard Edition of the game for $59.99 on the official Ubisoft store, though Insider Gaming reports that Ubisoft has plans for a Premium Edition offering players three days of early access and other as yet to be determined bonuses at a later date.
