Bloober Team has released Silent Hill 2 patch 1.04, an update that aims to sort out some pesky crash bugs, round off some DLSS issues, prevent James from getting stuck quite so much and, weirdly enough, make nurses’ skirts more deformable…
It’s a fairly healthy patch in terms of fixing problems with Bloober Team’s horror classic remake. On PS5 they have targeted a number of rare crashes in the game, while the PC specific improvements are mainly about optimising around DLSS upscaling, adding the latest version of FSR, improving Steam Deck performance, and the like.
The universal improvements for both platforms stamp out a bunch of glitches through the game. Things like james being teleported through a door’s peephole, getting stuck on window frames, falling through the map in Brookhaven Hospital, and that sort of thing. There’s also the amusing “Improved the deformation of Nurses’ skirts,” which I think will be the subject of some YouTube deep dive sooner or later.
Silent Hill 2 Patch 1.04 is out now. To check that you’ve updated, the version number in the bottom right of corner of the main menu will read v.1.1.242,185.
