When it was unveiled that Silent Hill would have a resurgence, fans of the franchise were likely hesitant. Several modern attempts at the franchise didn’t quite yet the strides that the original Team Silent was able to provide. However, there was also the confirmation that the new selection of games included Silent Hill 2, a remake from Bloober Team.
Bloober Team was known for horror games, but this would arguably be their biggest project. It could set them up as a name to reckon with for other studios. Likewise, it would potentially showcase what they are capable of for players. With Silent Hill 2 in development, the team kept a lid on their progress. Eventually, it was confirmed that anything marketing-wise for the game would go through Konami.
As a result, it wasn’t until last month’s PlayStation State of Play event that fans were finally given a new look into Silent Hill 2. While we didn’t get a release date, the gameplay footage showcased some of the combat elements to expect. That had some fans expressing concern over Bloober Team’s direction for this game. But now it looks like the president of the Bloober Team is hoping to clear the air and express that fans will evaluate the game differently once real gameplay footage is shown.
Reported by Eurogamer, which was translated through Google, we’re getting a report based around Piotr Babieno. Babieno had an interview with Inwestyc.tv where he joked about how the team felt the same as fans when seeing the footage showcased. Piotr went on to state that, again, Konami is responsible for the marketing side of things, but this trailer did not reflect the spirit of the game.
Instead, the developers opted to bring out an accurate vision of the game, which debuted into the marketplace decades ago. As a result, the president of Bloober Team feels that once players see the actual gameplay footage, not snippets of combat, they will evaluate it differently.
