Shiny Pokémon TCG Set Potentially Coming in January - Hardcore Gamer

Pokémon fans, get ready for a thrilling start to the new year! We have exclusive information from Pokebeach that a special Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) English set will be released on January 26th.

The set will introduce not only an Elite Trainer Box but also a novel product called a “Sticker Collection Blister.” Inside this blister, you’ll find three booster packs, a promo card, and a sticker. This is the first time we’ve seen stickers included in a blister product. Additionally, more products are expected to be unveiled, including promo boxes and Premium Collections.

This English TCG set will feature cards from Japan’s upcoming “Shiny Treasure” set, set to debut at the end of this year. While we only know the set’s name for now, its title hints at the inclusion of shiny Pokémon. This theme has delighted collectors in the past with “shiny” sets like “GX Ultra Shiny” in November 2018 and “Shiny Star V” in November 2020.

Typically, these annual “shiny” sets contain reprinted cards from the past year, but with a shiny makeover. For example, you can anticipate cards like a shiny version of “Tera Charizard ex.” These sets always feature a handful of brand-new cards as well.

While most special English TCG sets release in the fall, there have been exceptions in the past, with a few launching early in the year. Examples include “Shining Fates” in February 2021 (which was the most recent shiny set before this announcement) and “Crown Zenith” in January of this year. The latter set wasn’t shiny-themed but did feature some stunning shiny promos.
