It's hard to think of a brand with more power than Pokemon. From games, TV shows, films, trading cards, and more, the series dominates so many different markets. This is largely thanks to its squeaky clean, kid-friendly image, appealing to a range of age groups. And, apparently, fans of the 2000 film American Psycho.
Yep, a promotional video for Pokemon just referenced American Psycho, the story of serial killer Patrick Bateman. Thanks to American Psycho's recent meme revival, we now live in a world where child-friendly brands like Pokemon can reference it, despite the film obviously not being particularly appropriate for anyone in the franchise's target demographic.

The video is on the official Pokemon TikTok account and is very clearly a reference to a scene from American Psycho. You can watch it in all of its glory below, and see that whoever worked on this put a hell of a lot of effort in. They didn't just reuse audio from the film - they re-recorded the scene entirely. With a bunch of Pokemon plushes, of course.
The TikTok sure is a unique way to reveal the new Larry card, but an effective one at that. I certainly won't be forgetting it any time soon, so mission accomplished, I guess. The replies seem to agree with me, with no one quite believing that the account got away with this.
"Never thought I would see a Pokemon/American Psycho crossover, but I'm here for it," says TikTok user KeybladeNobody. Another user labels the video "Unovan Psycho", which should absolutely be Larry's name in the fanbase going forward.
