World of Warcraft has remained one of the premier titles within the MMORPG genre for nearly two decades at this point, and Blizzard shows no sign of slowing down the iconic franchise.
With the recent purchase of Activision-Blizzard by Microsoft now signed, sealed, and delivered, some have wondered whether or not WoW will be coming to Xbox/Xbox Game Pass.
Here’s what we know about World of Warcraft coming to Xbox.
The now-completed deal between Activision-Blizzard and Microsoft was one that held a crutch over gamers’ minds for recent years, and with it now being finalized, we’re all fantasizing about seeing titles like Call of Duty on Xbox Game Pass.
Well, it appears players will have to wait until at least 2024 to see their favorite title make its way over onto the Xbox app, as Phill Spencer noted during the official Xbox podcast, that titles such as WoW will maneuver over to Xbox “sometime in the course of next year.”
While yes, we could see a new Xbox Game Pass subscription, where players pay a premium price, but it covers your WoW subscription, we aren’t too sure if we’ll see the title actually playable on Xbox consoles.
While other MMORPGs like FF14 Online are playable on PlayStation, we still haven’t received any indication that Blizzard plans to port the game over to consoles at all.
While we’d like to see the eventual movement of WoW to Xbox, we’ll have to wait and see for now.
