Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures Anthology maker Supermassive Games has hired Gary Rowe as its new chief publishing officer.
Rowe is an industry vet who has worked in games since 1998 when he was hired as head of acquisitions by Codemasters. He held that role until 2004, before departing for Sega to work as a commercial director and SVP of publishing and content.
In 2012, he returned to Codemasters as VP of the racing firm's digital business, leaving two years later to head up retailer Green Man Gaming's Loaded publishing label. Four years later, he was hired by indie firm Curve Digital to be its VP of franchise publishing, before moving to be chief content officer at the end of 2021.
"We are now eager to expand our publishing business so that we can deliver more outstanding games to our fans," Supermassive CEO Pete Samuels said.
"With Gary's extensive experience, we know he is the perfect person to help us achieve our goals."
Rowe added “The opportunity to be joining a team with a heritage like Supermassive is very exciting and I'm looking forward to building on their amazing reputation and boosting their publishing efforts."
