Microsoft has detailed Xbox’s September system update, which is rolling out this week.
Headlining the update is the ability for players to stream their Xbox gameplay to their Discord friends.
A new reporting feature for in-game voice chats on consoles is also launching in select English-language markets (US, UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand).
First introduced in July for Xbox Insiders, it lets players capture 60-second clips and report inappropriate voice activity on any multiplayer title with in-game voice chat on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.
The update also includes new variable refresh rate options for Xbox Series X/S consoles, new places to view and redeem Rewards, and new wish list notifications.
In an Xbox Wire post, Microsoft also said it has “updated the Xbox app on PC with new features, faster performance, and celebrations for upcoming games”.
Earlier today, Xbox confirmed the next wave of titles coming to Game Pass, and which games will be leaving the subscription service this month.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer said last month that Microsoft is committed to releasing the same games for both Xbox Series X and S consoles, and that he doesn’t see a future where the entry-level system has to miss out on some titles due to technical limitations.
He also said the price of current-gen consoles won’t come down over time in the same way as other systems have in past generations, and that he thinks a mid-gen refresh would create “a ton of complexity for creators and players”.
