EverQuest II is gearing up for its next expansion, Ballads of Zimara, with its beta and pre-orders now live. Looking ahead at what's to come for the MMO, studio Jenn Chan released a new Producer's Letter recapping the last few months and peeling back the veil on what's to come.
First things first: Ballads of Zimara is the next expansion — the 20th expansion - for the long-running MMORPG, taking players back to Overrealm, as well as the new Zimara Breadth, in the «hopes of wresting lasting peace from a despotic foe, the Djinn Sovereign.»

Like all recent EverQuest II expansions, multiple versions are available, from the standard edition at $34.99, the Collector's at $69.99, Premium at $139.99 and the Family and Friends bundle at $249.99. The differences between the sets is down to the in-game goodies it hands out, such as mounts, recipes, and more.
