It seems like Apple's last big event, where they unveiled the new iPhones, Apple Watches and the like, was just yesterday (it was actually September 7th). But there's a new Apple event today as well, and retailers are anticipating it by delivering some unexpected price drops on hardware. One of the best deals we've found is at Amazon, where the brand-new AirPods Pro with USB-C charging are going for fifty bucks off.
How much do we need to tell you about the AirPods Pro? In our review, we called them "the top true wireless earphones for Apple users thanks to their exceptional noise cancellation, excellent sound quality, and USB-C case." Apple has really refined their audio technology, delivering robust audio with great stereo separation and rich bass. The noise cancellation is best in class, ably countering external sounds and letting you customize your settings. The Conversation Awareness feature lets you automatically drop the volume when the headphones hear you talking.
Controls are responsive and intuitive, with combinations of taps and longer presses enabling you to adjust volume, change tracks, answer calls and more without touching your phone. These aren't the most durable earphones you can get, but a IP54 rating does mean they're dust-resistant and can endure light sprays of water without a problem. The case and interior have been upgraded to have the same rating as well.
The USB-C case is the big improvement here, and it's incredibly convenient to be able to charge your headphones from a MacBook or a new model iPhone. The case also supports Qi and MagSafe wireless charging if you do that.
