When asked about his future in the, Oscar winner revealed that he’s not yet ready to say goodbye to Nick Fury. Speaking with Empire Magazine, Jackson expressed how much he loved playing the former SHIELD director who first appeared in Iron Man over a decade ago. That’s why the acclaimed actor hopes to continue being a part of the MCU, even after Disney Plus’s Secret Invasion series made its debut.
“I love playing him, and I love the fact that they’re opening him up to all these other possibilities and this whole life that he has,” Jackson said. “So hopefully, I’m not done, and in this new phase of the MCU, I’ll still be floating in and out of there somehow, some way.”
Apart from Secret Invasion, it has also been confirmed that Jackson will once again team up with Captain Marvel co-star Brie Larson in the highly-anticipated movie, which will arrive in theaters on November 10.
Secret Invasion is led by MCU mainstay Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role as Nick Fury. He will be teaming up with Captain Marvel‘s Ben Mendelsohn, who is returning as the pseudo-leader of the Skrulls, Talos. Joining them are MCU newcomers Kingsley Ben-Adir, Oscar winner Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Killian Scott, Christopher McDonald, and Carmen Ejogo, along with MCU vets Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, and Don Cheadle.
Based on Brian Michael Bendis, Leinil Francis Yu, Mark Morales, and Laura Martin’s comic book series, Secret Invasion is executive produced by Kyle Bradstreet, with Let Him Go director Thomas Bezucha and Ali Selim set as directors.
Secret Invasion is scheduled to make its debut on June 21 as part of Phase 5.
