Samsung is pushing the size of its curved gaming displays to a whole new level with the announcement of the 57-inch Odyssey Neo G9 (G95NC).
It counts as the world's first dual UHD gaming monitor, offering a 7,680-by- 2,160 resolution and making it big enough to replace a couple of 32-inch 4K displays. The 32:9 matte screen offers a 1000R curvature and uses Samsung's Quantum Mini LED lighting.
As this monster display is meant for gaming, the G9 has a 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms gray-to-gray response time, and 1,000 nits peak brightness. It also supports DisplayHDR 1000 and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. For connectivity, Samsung included DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, and a USB hub.
Samsung also announced the Odyssey Ark (G97NC), which is the world's first 55-inch 1000R curved gaming monitor. It offers a 165Hz refresh rate, 1ms gray-to-gray response time, and 4K UHD resolution. The Ark can access multiple inputs at once, splitting the screen to show output from each one.
The Odyssey Neo G9 launches in October for $2,500, while the Odyssey Ark can be pre-ordered from September but has no firm release date yet. Pricing is expected to be under $2,000.
