Following the debut of last August 22, Disney+ announced that Lucasfilm’s newest Star Wars series has officially became the most-watched title on the streamer this past week. The first episode, “Master and Apprentice,” has already received 14 million views.
In a statement, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy shared her reaction towards Ahsoka’s viewership achieving by thanking all the fans who supported the show.
“Ahsoka has become a fan favorite with people of all ages and it’s wonderful to see her continue to resonate with viewers in her very own headlining series,” Kennedy said. “I want to recognize the fantastic work done by our creative team, led by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, the incredible cast led by Rosario Dawson, and our talented crew — and on behalf of the team and all of Lucasfilm, we give our thanks to all the fans who have been with Ahsoka on every step of her journey and to all those who are just learning about her now in Ahsoka on Disney+.”
The series stars Dawson as the former Jedi Knight after first portraying the beloved character in The Mandalorian Season 2. It will also feature the live-action debuts of Star Wars Rebels characters including Sabine Wren (Bordizzo), Hera Syndulla (Winstead), Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi), and Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen). Joining them are franchise newcomers Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, and Wes Chatham as Captain Enoch.
In addition, Temuera Morrison has also reportedly joined the series to portray the live-action version of Captain Rex. Hayden Christensen is also expected to return as Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano’s Jedi master in The Clone Wars series.
