Samsung is going all in with generative AI. The latest launch of the Galaxy S24 series saw Samsung introduce a set of new AI features which were later rolled out to older smartphones as well. Smartphones won't be the only ones getting new AI stuff, though. Now, Samsung has just unveiled new Galaxy AI features for its Galaxy Watch smartwatches.
Samsung has just announced that it will be unveiling a set of of AI-powered health features to the Galaxy Watch later this year. The new features aim to provide you with more personalized and comprehensive insights into your health and fitness. One of the key additions is the Energy Score, which analyzes various health metrics like sleep, activity, and heart rate to give users a better understanding of their daily condition. Another addition here is Wellness Tips, providing personalized guidance and motivation based on individual health goals. These are certainly not the same kind of AI features that smartphones have received, where we have features such as live translation and some photo editing features, but they will certainly come in handy if you happen to use Samsung's health features a lot, as they merge seamlessly into the health features you already have.
Samsung is also improving the accuracy of sleep tracking by adding new metrics such as movement during sleep, sleep latency, heart rate, and respiratory rate. This will offer a more in-depth analysis of sleep quality and help users build better sleep habits. For fitness enthusiasts, the Galaxy Watch will introduce new features like personalized heart rate zones for running and cycling, as well as a 10-minute Functional Threshold Power (FTP) test for cyclists. The watch will also offer a "Workout Routine" feature for creating personalized workouts and a "Race" feature to track progress and compare performance on the same routes.
