The studio that streamer Guy "Dr Disrespect" Beahm co-founded, Midnight Society, has cut ties with the personality following fresh allegations regarding him being banned from Twitch back in 2020.
This follows former Twitch employee Cody Conners taking to Twitter to allege that Beahm was dropped from the platform after he was "caught sexting a minor" on its Whisper messaging system, adding that the personality was attempting to meet up with them at TwitchCon. Conners doesn't mention Beahm by name, but The Verge has spoken to former staff members who have corroborated that the tweet is in reference to him.
Midnight Society has since posted on Twitter to say that it initially assumed that Beahm was innocent, but after speaking to some of the people involved, after which it decided to cut ties.
"While these facts are difficult to hear and even more difficult to accept, it is our duty to act with dignity on behalf of all individuals involved, especially the fifty-five developers and families we have employed along with our community of players," the studio wrote.
In August 2021, Beahm sued Twitch over him being banned from the platform. The matter was later resolved with neither party admitting any wrongdoing. He has since taken to Twitter to reiterate his innocence.
"Listen, I’m obviously tied to legal obligations from the settlement with Twitch but I just need to say what I can say since this is the fucking internet," Beahm wrote.
"I didn’t do anything wrong, all this has been probed and settled, nothing illegal, no wrongdoing was found, and I was paid."
