Madame Web is one of the most-anticipated superhero projects of 2024 and is another attempt by the production giant to build its Sony Spider-Man Universe. The Madame Web trailers seemingly confirmed that Spider-Man wouldn’t appear in the movie. However, a recent rumor suggests that Madame Web could have seen the friendly neighborhood superhero making an appearance in the film.
While appearing on the latest episode of The Hot Mic with Jeff and John podcast, insider Jeff Sneider revealed that Sony initially wanted Andrew Garfield to be the Spider-Man of the Madame Web world. The production studio altered its course and decided to include Tom Holland's Spider-Man. Sneider also indicated that the primary reason for the movie's reshoots was to eliminate all '90s references, ensuring alignment with the timelines. Additionally, the insider cautioned fans by saying they shouldn’t expect any '90s references in the movie.
