There’s a big new update for RoboCop: Rogue City, with developer Teyon bringing a New Game Plus option, new difficulty level, and more to the throwback 80’s action shooter.
New Game Plus will let you restart the game’s campaign with all of the previously unlocked skills and Auto-9 upgrades, for what Teyon label as the full “invincible robotic law enforcement officer” experience. However, you might have to jump through a hoop to unlock it.
To unlock New Game Plus, you need to finish the game after the update has been applied. Thankfully, you can do this by using a game save from right before the end of the game, if you’ve already completed it. That will make a new save file and grant access.
Oh, and it will also unlock a golden Auto-9 skin for beating the game.
But what’s a New Game Plus without a new difficulty mode to test yourself with? That’s what the “There Will be Trouble” difficulty mode is for, upping the challenge that you’ll face when purging Detroit of bad guys.
Outside of that, there’s a handful bug fixes. Here’s the changelog
RoboCop: Rogue City is Teyon’s latest FPS based on an 80’s film franchise. Set between the second and third films, RoboCop methodically stomps around town on the trail of a new drug gang and peel back a new mystery while blasting everything in sight into smithereens.
Ade handled our RoboCop review, and did not have the best of times, sadly, awarding it a 4/10 for some technical flaws, as well as a monotonous plodding pace to story and combat. That said, it’s kind of what would be expected for RoboCop, and if you’re after some straight up blasting, this might be right up your alley.
