Grand Theft Auto Online's latest update on January 25 added a new game mode, Drag Races. This gives players a new way to enjoy Grand Theft Auto Online's popular racing gameplay.
GTA Online releases weekly updates that often give GTA+ subscribers new items or vehicles, while sometimes adding new ways to play for all users. One of its most recent updates introduced GTA Online's Albany Cavalcade XL, a Cadillac Escalade recreation that can be unlocked by being a GTA+ subscriber or by paying $1.6 million of in-game currency. This week's update added additional content for fans of GTA Online's vehicles and racing.
GTA Online's January 25 update added a new game mode that allows players to compete in a drag racing format. GTA Online explained that timing is key in its new Drag Races mode, where players will need to time their gear changes while dodging traffic. Players can also earn a boost by burning out at the starting line and will be given a supply of Nitrous to use during the race. The new Race Series is available to all LS Car Meet Members. Drag Races will reward users with 2X GTA$ and RP through January 31. Additionally, a new weekly challenge rewards those who win two Drag or Drift Races with $100,000 of GTA$ and the Bright Manor Racing Suit. This week's update also introduced new Salvage Yard robbery targets, 2X rewards for Auto Shop robbery contracts and Rhino Hunt, and new offerings in the Premium Deluxe Motorsport Showroom and Luxury Autos Showroom. GTA+ subscribers can fill out their 100-car garage by taking advantage of these new offers.
Following previous benefits given to GTA+ subscribers, members can currently claim a free Rockstar Atomic Logo Sweater, New Year's Jacket and Pants, Western MC Jacket, and Western MC Pants.
