Ori developer Moon Studios announced No Rest for the Wicked at the last The Game Awards. Developed for publisher Private Division, it's labeled as a visceral top-down action RPG that Moon Studios has been prototyping even before they released the first Ori game.
No Rest for the Wicked aims to deliver more deliberate and tactical choices in combat than your average hack-and-slash game. Each weapon will offer not only different move sets but also speed and weight, factoring in the player's choice. As customary for the genre, armor crafting and armor enchanting with runes will be included.
Moon Studios even introduced all-new elements to the genre. For example, players will be able to purchase property and decorate it in the town of Sacrament. Here, various activities such as farming and fishing will be available, providing resources to craft consumables that restore health and boost the character's stats. Moreover, over time, players will be rebuilding Sacrament to its former glory.
The game will be playable in cooperative mode for up to three players. The whole dark world of Isola Sacra, plagued by a mysterious Pestilence, will be open to the entire group. You can stick together or go off to do your own thing.
Yesterday, IGN published a new video showing off a new boss battle from No Rest for the Wicked. You can check it out below.
Moon Studios will provide a lot more information about the game in the upcoming Wicked Inside digital showcase, slated to air on March 1. The game is expected to launch on Steam Early Access soon, with a full release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X available at a later date.
