Valve's handheld enjoyed a great reception two years ago, and last year certainly offered a lot for fans to enjoy. There was no shortage of great games for the Steam Deck in 2023, and there were plenty of reasons for PC gamers on the go to consider picking up the handheld for themselves. Now, thanks to data from Valve, gamers can enjoy a peak at what was most popular among Steam Deck owners.
As its annual Spring Steam Sale gets underway, Valve has revealed that Baldur's Gate 3 was the top game played on the Steam Deck over the last 12 months. The full list, which can be accessed from the front page of Steam, ranks games based on daily active player count and covers the last 12 months, starting from March 2023. Given that Baldur's Gate 3 was a massive hit with critics and fans last year, it shouldn't be surprising that it won the top spot on the list.
The list appears to feature a nice mix of recent hits, older classics, and even some charming indie titles. The top 10 includes the likes of Hogwarts Legacy and Elden Ring, both newer titles, along withGTA 5, and the pixelated RPG Dave the Diver. Hogwarts Legacy was the top-selling game of 2023, while Elden Ring has arguably set new standards for action RPGs, making it equally understandable that they got to join Baldur's Gate 3 on the list.
