When Square Enix announced the Meister Quality Hydaelyn & Zodiark figure back in January, along with its associated in-game emote Apocalyptic Charades, players were left shocked by not only the price of $350 but also by the accompanying emote’s limitations. According to the item description, Apocalyptic Charades was character locked.
This means that the emote would only be usable by one character associated with the buyer’s account, something that left many disappointed, considering the fact that FFXIV allows you to have multiple characters. For $350 dollars, it seems pretty fair to assume it’s account-wide.
It wasn’t altogether surprising, though. When the Meister Quality Omega figure was released in 2020, the associated Omega Simulations emote was indeed character locked, so buyers weren’t too shocked with Apocalyptic Charades being the same.
However, this fact appears to have been wrong at the time of publishing, as Square Enix has since clarified that Apocalyptic Charades will be account-wide, meaning that any current characters or any made in the future will be able to use it.
The product description for the Ballroom Etiquette – Apocalyptic Charades bonus code has been corrected and will now grant the emote service account-wide rather than per character as initially listed.
