The Combat Knife can be repaired by stopping at the Merchant. You get four options when interacting with this mysterious figure. They are Buy, Tune Up, Sell, and Trade. If you select the second voice, Tune Up, you will see all the weapons you currently own, including the Knife. If it is broken, you can fix it by pressing Repair and paying the pesetas requested by the Merchant. You will meet the Merchant for the first time near the start of Chapter 2.
Once done, you will gain access to additional upgrades for your Combat Knife. You can increase the power of this weapon and its durability. This option, in particular, is of great importance because it directly affects how quickly the knife will break. If you max it out, you can use it for longer, and it should last between one stop at the Merchant and the next.
