Anyone who's familiar with the remake of Resident Evil 4 will have noted the changes made to the iconic 2005 installment, but one person decided that Ramon Salazar needed to have his all-important hat reinstated. Helping to define survival horror gaming, especially in the early days of the genre, Capcom's RE series has been a huge influence on the world of scary games, and it's pretty impressive that the franchise is still able to produce some highly praised entries.
Of course, there are some notable differences between the original Resident Evil 4 and the remake, but that's generally worked out for the better. The studio has chopped a few bits here and there, with some decisions perhaps not being too popular with fans, but has largely kept the tone of the OG release, though it is admittedly darker. However, one thing that has changed quite significantly is Salazar's appearance. While still recognizable, until now, he's been missing one key component.

Over on Nexus Mods, user kira5z has brought back Salazar's «sweet» tricorn hat for the Resident Evil 4 remake. It's a relatively straightforward and simple modification, but it does give the midway boss an appearance more in line with his original look. The creator describes it as «more of a novelty,» but it should appeal to fans who felt the villain was missing something. Whether kira5z or any other modder will be keen to reinstate some other things from the 2005 RE4 remains to be seen, but this could be the start of something new as players continue to draw comparisons between the two games.
