One week on from the launch of Resident Evil 4 Remake and you've probably heard almost nothing but praise for the reimagined classic. No game is perfect though, and Capcom has now highlighted a bug that prevents you from making progress should you encounter it.
The bug appears at the start of chapter 12, but don't worry if you're avoiding spoilers. Capcom has been very careful to avoid spoiling any of what's to come for people who haven't moved past the remake's first 11 chapters. If you do start chapter 12 soon, all you need to do is make sure you don't attack using your knife as soon as it begins.

The update from Capcom (thanks, VGC) explains you'll receive a key item to kick off chapter 12 and after you receive it, a notification about said item will appear in the top right of your screen. The bug appears to occur if a player attacks with their knife before that notification has appeared. Whether you do that or not, the studio is urging players to check their Key Items & Treasures before moving on as they won't be able to finish the game without it.
That means if you do encounter the bug, potentially without even realizing, and then move too far forward in the game, you'll have to start over. However, if you check right away and the item isn't there, you can reload the game from the start of chapter 12 and make sure the key item is actually added to your inventory and can therefore be used later in the game when needed.
Capcom has already confirmed it is working on a fix but for now, be careful when starting chapter 12. Another imminent update already announced is Resident Evil 4 Remake's The Mercenaries DLC. Confirmed to launch on
