Today, developer Gunfire Games and publisher Gearbox announced that Remnant II has already sold over a million units globally across the platforms it released on (PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X). Given that the game launched exactly one week ago, it's fair to assume the milestone was reached roughly in six days.
Gunfire Games president David Adams said in a statement:
To everyone who helped us achieve this amazing milestone, thank you for your unwavering support. This was a multi-year journey for us, and we couldn’t be happier to see fans having such a great time with a game we put our heart and soul into.
Yoon Im, president of Gearbox Publishing, echoed Adams' sentiment, stating:
Remnant II exceeded our expectations. As a commercial and critical hit, we’re incredibly proud of the Gunfire team and everyone here at Gearbox Publishing who brought this title to life. As excited as we are, we’re incredibly thankful to the Remnant community who supported us and the Gunfire team during development. To the new Remnant fans who joined our community in the past week, we’re thrilled you joined us on this journey.
It's not exactly surprising, given that the first game in the series also sold well and this sequel seems to be doing even better, at least on Steam, with over twice as many players registered on the platform. Still, it should provide the basis for a solid live service expansion. We already know there will be DLCs for Remnant II, though there are no concrete details yet.
Today, Gunfire and Gearbox also released their accolades trailer, showing off the highest scores and greatest quotes from the press. Moreover, DLSS 3 is now supported by Remnant II, although it has some problems, as noted in our testing article.
