Embers Adrift has made some changes to combat toimprove the player experience, adding some new content in the process. The team also released a number of improvements and bug fixes in the latest patch.
When it comes to combat, the Stormhaven Studios team has decided to improve player experience by reducing execution times, as well as making NPCs more difficult at higher levels. This patch is designed to improve how combat feels. In essence, they want it to feel more complete and more responsive, and give you a challenge if at higher levels. The emphasis is on risk versus reward, but making enemies more difficult also slows down player progression, so to offset this a bit they've reduced the amount of XP you need per level starting at 25.
There are three new quests to take on. Armor weight also got some tweaks. Armor weight was generally scaled down while maintaining existing ratios. The change will let the highest level characters wear full sets.
With these changes come new additions. First is the Hunting Log, This log will track your kill counts for specific creatures. As you kill more creatures, and different ones, you'll start unlocking perks that will be granted in the form of titles and sometimes stat bonuses. if you are at a point where you're able to unlock a title, you'll be able to choose one of the two available titles for that mark.
Stat perks let you choose one set bonus from three available options. These options will be unique to each creature. The reason for this is that those stat bonuses will only apply when you are engaged with that specific creature type.
