Remnant 2 developer Gunfire Games is "actively" working on crossplay for its popular co-op shooter.
Confirmation comes from Gunfire Games president and Remnant 2 director David Adams, who held an AMA recently on the Remnant subreddit. One of the questions asked was whether or not Gunfire Games was looking into adding crossplay into Remnant 2. Adams confirmed the feature was in the works.
"Yes, we are looking at it," Adams wrote. "There are issues with the different platforms and what they require in order to allow crossplay, but it is being actively worked on."
Adams also provided an update on the invite issue currently plaguing the PS5 version of Remnant 2. Adams admitted the issue "got buried" and that "for the foreseeable future," Gunfire Games plans to just support joining your friend's game via the join menu.
Remnant 2 was released last month as a sequel to Gunfire Games' 2019 shooter Remnant: From the Ashes. Despite some performance issues, Remnant 2 was met with critical and commercial success, becoming one of the best-selling games on Steam, and selling one million copies in its first week across all platforms.
In our review of Remnant 2, which we awarded a 9 out of 10, we said: "Where Remnant: From The Ashes was a strong first draft, Remnant 2 is a revolutionary sequel and a sterling manifesto for the looter-shooter soulslike."
