Paper Beast will be making the jump from PS4 and PSVR to PS5 and PSVR2 next month in an Enhanced Edition which bundles in new improvements. Out on 27th September 2023, the new version will sport a smooth locomotion mode in VR and all-around HDR support, and outside of it, there'll be a 4K resolution. Textures have also been updated while the sandbox will contain more creatures and plants.
Current PS4 owners will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version for a «small price». A PR representative tells Push Square more pricing details will be shared in the future. The original game sells for £24.99 / $29.99, so expect a similar price point for the PS5 version.
In our Paper Beast PSVR review, we awarded the game a 7/10 and shared praise for its beautiful world, ecosystem, and experimental stages. We concluded: «Paper Beast is an unusual but well realised world in PSVR. The interplay between you, the environments, and all the plants and animals is fun to discover, and it really does offer up some great moments throughout the story.»
