Rockstar Games has announced that the original Red Dead Redemption is finally coming to PC this month on 29th October. The game will be available via Steam, Epic and the Rockstar Store, bundling the main game together with the Undead Nightmare for some perfectly timed zombie-horror action on Halloween.
Red Dead Redemption’s port has been handled by Double Eleven – Rockstar themselves are kind of busy – with the studio working in some PC-specific enhancements to the game, including support for native 4K at up to 144Hz, Ultrawide (21:9) and Super Ultrawide (32:9) screen support, HDR10, and keyboard and mouse support.
Even though the game is 14 years old, you might like to have some graphics settings on PC, and so there’s things like adjustable draw distances, shadow quality settings and more. You’ve also got Nvidia DLSS 3.7 (with frame generation), and AMD FSR 3.0 for upscaling.

Being stuck on Xbox 360 and PS3, the game remained playable on modern platforms for a good long while only thanks to the Xbox One backward compatibility program. However, it’s now enjoying a renaissance with a Nintendo Switch and PS4 port coming along last year, the latter version eventually patched to enable 60FPS gameplay on PS5.
