It’s finally happening. Rockstar has announced that the original Red Dead Redemption is coming to PC on October 29. The PC port will also include its zombie spinoff Undead Nightmare.
Red Dead Redemption was originally released in 2010 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and was ported over to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in 2023. The PC version had long been rumored, but was finally confirmed to be real earlier this week. For those of you out there who have waited 14 years now (!!) for RDR to arrive on PC, the wait is almost over.
Rockstar teamed up with Double Eleven to handle the port. While it’s still the same game and not a remaster, the PC version will support native 4K resolution at refresh rates up to 144hz. Ultrawide fans will be happy to know that RDR will also support both 21:9 and 32:9 ultrawide and super ultrawide aspect ratios.
Other PC features include HDR10 support, mouse and keyboard controls, as well as NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0. The game’s DLSS support will also allow for frame generation, though without all the crazy bells and whistles of ray tracing and the fact that RDR is still a game from 2010, we’re not sure how necessary that feature will be.
