If you’ve been hesitant to start a new class in Destiny 2 because the grind to get all their Exotics is too daunting, the Destiny 2: Festival of the Lost event is the perfect time to start. In Destiny 2: Festival of the Lost, there is a new mechanic called Eerie Engrams and Hocus Focusing, both of which make the hunt for Exotics much easier.

We’ve seen a big change to Exotic focusing recently, but Destiny 2: Festival of the Lost is taking it to the next level with Eerie Engrams and Hocus Focusing. I’ve been a Warlock main for years in Destiny 2, but I’m gonna finally jump in and play Titan because of this new mechanic.
As you play Haunted Sectors, and the new Legend Haunted Sectors, you’llearn Eerie Engrams and Candy. It takes one Eerie Engram and 2,500 Candy to focus an Exotic armor piece in Destiny 2: Festival of the Lost. Unlike Exotic Engrams and Ascendant Shards, Eerie Engrams and Candy are farmable during Festival of the Lost which makes Exotic hunting easier than ever.
You do need to own the expansion the Exotic is tied to for it to be eligible to drop, and you can’t focus specific Exotic armor, just specific pieces. That said, you can earn tons of great Exotic armor pieces for a brand new class in Destiny 2 if you so desire. My pro tip is to have the 10 stat mod on your Ghost to boost whichever stat you prefer on your Exotic armor.
Exotics are what make builds viable and fun, but getting them is usually hard. Destiny 2: Festival of the Lost is the perfect time to earn tons of Exotics you don’t have, which makes it the best time to try a new class.
