The Fallout 76 Invaders from Beyond event has returned, bringing the alien menace back to Appalachia. The latest iteration of the popular activity arrives just as Fallout 76 is blowing up in popularity across both PC and consoles thanks to Amazon's Fallout TV show.
Zeta aliens have been part of the Fallout franchise since its humble beginnings in the '90s. While these extraterrestrial creatures started out as mere jokes, the Easter eggs featuring them grew more numerous over the years, eventually culminating in the Mothership Zeta DLC for Fallout 3. This curious race of invaders made a grand return to the series with the Fallout 76 Invaders from Beyond update, which added the eponymous event to the game in March 2022, among other themed content.
After featuring in Season 8, 10, and 13, Invaders from Beyond is now once again making a return in the ongoing Fallout 76 Season 16. The latest edition of the event kicked off on April 30 and will run until 12pm ET on May 14. As per usual, there will be 24 such activities per day, one at the top of every hour. Social media chatter indicates that the return of Invaders from Beyond has been welcomed by the fandom, with many players pointing to it as one of their favorite in-game events to date.
Aside from featuring unique enemies, Invaders from Beyond also stands out from the rest of the game's activities for several other reasons. E.g., it is one of the select few events that aren't static, but can actually spawn across half a dozen locations across the Fallout 76 map of Appalachia. Another standout feature is its selection of random rewards, which includes a plan for the Alien blaster. Between its high rate of fire and immense single-shot damage, the Alien blaster has long enjoyed a reputation as the best energy pistol in Fallout 76, if not the game's best overall handgun.
