Plunder Wonder! Special Rewards for Winning Plunderstorm
There are several rewards to unlock by participating in the Plunderstorm battle royale, but what happens when you win? While a pre-release interview with PCGamer noted exclusive cosmetic rewards for those who take first place, players don't need to worry about missing items from their collections tab.
It's true that winning a Plunderstorm battle royale match by being the last player standing will award a special tabard and eyepatch,
but unlike the Keg Leg's Crew Renown Rewards, these cosmetics and the associated First Rate Mate buff are only applied to your Plunderstorm pirate — both of which only last through the next match.
Squishei and Portergauge are honored first mates… until someone else takes the title!
Instead, players will unlock an identical Plunderlord's Monocle at Renown 38 and Plunderlord's Tabard at Renown 40 for use on their main account. That doesn't mean winning is pointless though, as the last player standing will also take home the exclusive Plunder Wonder Feat of Strength achievement; thereby celebrating match winners without blocking access to any of the cosmetic rewards!
