A reliable Persona leaker has claimed that a remake of Persona 4 is planned, but that we'll likely be waiting a while until we actually see it come to fruition.
While Persona 4 fans certainly don't have it anywhere near as bad as those who got started on Persona and Persona 2, it's still fair to say that they've been feeling a little neglected lately. Despite being one of the games that initially put the series on the mainstream map (maybe not as much as Persona 5, but still more than the earlier entries), Atlus has been surprisingly quiet about Yu Narukami over the past few years.
After spending years just wanting to be able to play Persona 4 Golden on a console that isn't the PS Vita, there was a bit of salt in the wound when it was revealed that Persona 3 would be getting a remake first. Now that Reload has released, a lot of fans are wondering if Persona 4 is ever going to get the same treatment.
Although rumours have suggested that the first two Persona games could be getting remakes or remasters, the rumour mill has been surprisingly quiet about whether Persona 4 is going to get one. Worry not, though, as a reliable Sega leaker has suggested that it is planned, but won't be happening for a while now.
Over on Twitter, Persona insider MbKKssTBhz5 was asked by a Twitter user if we can expect a remake of Persona 4 to happen at some point in the near future. They replied by simply saying "yes", but also suggested that it's not something that's coming soon and that fans are going to have to "wait for a while".
"Yes. But please wait for a while."
This is in line with what MbKKssTBhz5 has said about a Persona 4 remake in the past, as they've previously claimed that it's in the works at Atlus. Considering we're likely not that far from Persona 6 being revealed, it does make sense that we're going to have to wait a while to see a remake of Persona 4 come to fruition.
