Persona 1 and Persona 2 are due to receive remakes, it’s claimed.
According to Midori, an X user with a history of publishing information about Atlus titles before the information is in the public domain, the games are planned to receive remakes.
Responding to another X user, Midori said: “Yes. P1 and P2 are going to receive remakes too.” Later Midori clarified saying: “to be safe, I will call them updated form for right now.”
Persona 3 received a remake earlier this year, Persona 3: Reload. Following years of PlayStation exclusivity for the series’ main titles, Persona 3: Reload was released on all platforms.
This followed Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal finally coming to Xbox. Midori has recently claimed that Persona 6, which has been in development for some time, will release on Xbox platforms at launch, alongside Nintendo‘s next console.
Atlus’ next title, Metaphor: ReFantazio, meanwhile, is set for release later this year and will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and PC.
Metaphor: ReFantazio was originally announced as Project Re Fantasy back in 2016, and is the first original RPG by Studio Zero.
The developer consists of previous contributors to the Megami Tensei franchise, including director Katsura Hashino, character designer Shigenori Soejima and composer Shoji Meguro, all of whom had the same roles on Persona 3, 4 and 5.
