Peacemaker Fixed A Plot Hole By Creating 2 More
Warning: Contains spoilers for Peacemaker episode 7.
In Peacemaker episode 7, “Stop Dragon My Heart Around,” Murn makes a revelation about Adebayo that fixes a potential plot hole but makes the mistake of creating two more in the process. Several of the ARGUS team members that have been working with Peacemaker and Vigilante throughout the series seem to have their secrets. However, in the final episodes of Peacemaker season 1, these are being revealed to the rest of the team to limited surprise from other characters.
In Peacemaker episode 6, Leota Adebayo (Danielle Brooks) learned that Clemson Murn (Chukwudi Iwuji) was a Butterfly and revealed this fact to Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland), only to discover that Harcourt already knew. In Peacemaker episode 7, this scene gets flipped on its head when Harcourt learns that Leota is Amanda Waller’s daughter. When Murn arrives, Harcourt tells him, only for him to dismiss the fact because he had known it the whole time.

Murn reveals that he already knows about his co-worker’s true identity because he ran a background check on all the people on the team before they started working together. He notes that he would obviously have done this for security, which highlights what a plot hole it would have been for Murn not to already know that Leota was Waller’s daughter. For him to not have run even a cursory background check on his teammates, but especially the one mysteriously added to his team with no resume would have been uncharacteristically sloppy. Yet, the fact that Murn knew Leota’s family history all along does cause two new plot holes to spring up.
