Pricing for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S releases of Grand Theft Auto 5 has been revealed, and PS5 players will be getting a much better deal than Xbox users. The latest re-release of Rockstar's 2013 game is due to launch for current-gen systems on March 15, and will offer a host of upgrades and improvements for the newest gaming hardware.
Rockstar first announced a new-gen re-release ofGTA 5 during Sony's PlayStation 5 — The Future Of Gaming show in June 2020. In this announcement, the developer promised that the latest version of the popular open-world crime game would feature technical improvements, visual upgrades, and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the PlayStation 5's new hardware, as well as mentioning that the game itself would be expanded, offering exclusive content such as new vehicles for those on current-gen consoles. GTA 5 will have new graphics settings, including Performance Mode, promising a heightened version of the immensely popular game.

Screenshots of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S storefronts, which were updated as GTA 5 pre-orders went live today, have been shared by VGC, confirming that the complete PS5 version of GTA 5 will be half the price of the complete Xbox Series X/S version at launch. Breaking down the pricing, the publication reveals that GTA 5's Story Mode will have a full retail price of $39.99 on both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. However, the game will launch with a discount. This means PS5 owners with PS Plus can get Story Mode and GTA Online together for $9.99, as GTA Online is included with PS Plus this month.
