John Cena shares heartbreaking fan art recreating an emotional moment from Peacemaker episode 7. The HBO Max show is a spin-off of The Suicide Squad and the first television series set in DC's Extended Universe. The writer/director behind the critically acclaimed film, Guardians of the Galaxy's James Gunn, has returned to act as showrunner for the series that follows Cena's titular antihero. Peacemaker also stars Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Chukwudi Iwuji, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, and Robert Patrick.
Picking up where The Suicide Squad's post-credits scene left off, Peacemaker is forced to reteam with cohorts Emilia Harcourt (Holland) and John Economos (Agee) to form a new black ops squad called Project Butterfly. Their mission is to identify and eliminate the parasitic butterfly-like creatures that can take on the human form. The new team also includes Amanda Waller's daughter, Leota Adebayo (Brooks), the foolish Vigilante (Stroma), and is led by Clemson Murn (Iwuji) who happens to be a Butterfly himself. The series also takes a deeper look at the man behind the toilet seat helmet, Christopher Smith, specifically through his troubled relationship with his father, Auggie (Patrick), who is the white supremacist supervillain White Dragon.
