Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen has releases its latest newsletter, with a review of February, progress, a feature on the game’s environmental art, and what’s to come.
Development progress continues, and this month, the team has worked to build up the Crafting and Gathering system. These system updates include work on the spawn rules, the UI, implementation of gathering techniques, improvements to the crafting window, the schematics selection added, and more. They've also improved smelting and added additional schematics for smelting and blacksmithing. The Crafting and Gathering system with these new developments will be in this weekend's pre-alpha test. This test is the second of the now-ongoing monthly pre-alpha tests.
The team is also noting that they made major progress on the “overhaul of our persistence server and architecture”, Which should help with stability and performance. One of the issues they discovered had to do with client crashes and character data rollback. so they're improving it and hoping to get it in time for this weekend's test.
This is another effort the Vicarious Visions team has made in their effortto shore up their backend and improve performance. Engineers working on the backend overhaul and data will begin shifting towards work on the game's systems instead since the overhaul work is in an advanced stage.
One of the things they are looking forward to in next month's pre-alpha test, which will happen March 18th and 19th, is to have the new player models and all of their polished up animations in that test.
The world of Terminus is nothing without its visual design, and the Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen newsletter has a feature on the game’s art. From concept art through making it a reality
